My dear Fayuen:
I am somewhat surprised to learn from your letter just received of your wish to change schools this year. I know practically nothing about the Nichols School, to which you refer. On general principles it seems to me that you would do better to remain in your old school for another year, for there the teachers are familiar with your case and know better what your needs are. It seems to me that under these conditions you would be likely to make better progress than you would in a new school. It would be necessary for us to consult Mrs. Hall in any case before granting you permission to change, and further, I would feel obliged to investigate the school carefully in order to know what its standards and conditions are. As matters now stand, I feel confident that you will do much better to plan to return to Powder Point this year.
Very sincerely yours,
