Mr. Fayuen Sun,
79 Montgomery Street
Boston, Mass.

My dear Sun:

I have your interesting but somewhat surprising letter advising me of your change of plans for the coming year. Very likely the arrangement is a good one, but I cannot sanction it until I have talked the matter over with you end with Mrs. Hall, so that we can understand just what is planned and can make our arrangements accordingly. Your father asked Mr. Tong to arrange with Mr. Hall and myself for the direction of your work in America. Naturally we are bound to respect that confidence, and it is impossible therefore for us to approve of a scheme in regard to which we have not even been consulted. I hope you will arrange to come out to Andover within the next day or two and talk things over with us. There will be a better opportunity to see you after the rush of the opening days is over.

Very sincerely yours,

Principal.
