Mr. Fayuen Sun,
79 Montgomery Street,
Boston, Mass.
My dear Fayuen:
Mrs. Hall and I have had a further conference in regard to your plans and it seems to us on the whole wise to permit you to begin work at Chauncy Hall, pending the receipt of further advices from your guardian. In case you make such an arrangement, however, it is very important that you should give the authorities to understand that your connection with the school may have to be terminated on short notice.
Personally I am confident that neither Mr. Tong nor your father would be likely to approve of the proposed arrangement, but I do not wish to stand in the way of the plan until I have received more definite instructions from them.
I wish you would ask the Principal of Chauncy Hall to write me fully in case he does not understand the situation. Please ask him also to send to me any bills incurred by your attendance at the school.
Very sincerely yours,
Principal.
