My dear Sun:
I have your note of the 13th inst. and am inclosing herewith check for $60. as requested. Kindly sign and return the accompanying receipt.
In view of the present situation in China and the difficulty that all of the Chinese boys in America are now experiencing in securing funds from home, it is absolutely imperative for all of you boys to curtail your expenses to the utmost. Under the circumstances I am obliged to take the position which is being taken I understand with practically all the Government students in making this request. I am obliged therefore to refuse to honor any further bills that are contracted without my previous consent. Please bear this in mind.
With best wishes, believe me,
Faithfully yours,
Principal.
