My dear Miss Young:

In reply to your request I am sending you under separate cover several sets of specimen examination papers which I hope may allay the fears of your Chinese boy. You are at liberty to say to this fellow that in the case of our Chinese students we attach little importance to the actual examination results and are accustomed to make provisional assignments for them on the basis of their earlier work and recommendations of previous instructors.

May I trouble you to send me the name and address of the boy in question in order that our files of new students may be as complete as possible.

Very truly yours,
