My dear Dr. Tenney:-

I reply to your letter of the 31st ult. I find on inquiry that Kwan owes fifty dollars on his tuition account, this amount to cover the spring term. I am writing to Mrs. Foster, with whom Kwan rooms, making her to send you at once any bills she may have against this boy for room and board. I know of no charges against Tsai. If I hear of any, I will see that they are mailed you.

Seetoo, as you will recall, is receiving free tuition, and I am hoping to take care of his room account by interesting outsiders in his behalf. I have not on hand at this time just the amount necessary to do this but I feel sure that I can secure the necessary sum later.

Very truly yours,
