Dear Sir:-

As Principal Stearns is out of time for several days, it will not be possible for him to reply to your letter of the 2nd Inst. before your departure for China. There is no doubt, however, but that he will be to act as guardian for the two Chinese students mentioned. We will notify Mrs. Foster, the lady in whose house Mr. Kwan rooms that hereafter all bills are to be settled by the boy himself.
