My dear Tu:
I have your letter of December 8 which I have been delayed in answering:, as it came during my recent absence from town.
You asked for $75.00, and I am enclosing a check for $100.00 with the understanding that this sum is to cover the necessary clothes, which you have mentioned as required, and the vacation expenses which you will soon have to meet. I shall count on you to supply me with a detailed statement showing how the money is spent and also the receipted bills when you receive them. Another thing: be sure to sign and return at one the accompanying receipt for the money in question. You have been extraly careless about this, and I seemingly cannot count on getting back the receipt for money remitted until you find yourself in need of further funds. I always go to the trouble add expense of endowing a return envelope; so that all you have to do is to sign the receipt, slip it into the envelope, and mail it. This can and should be done within an hour, at least, of the time the check reaches you. So please be careful about this for the future
Please let me know what you plan to do for the Christmas holidays, and believe me with beet wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Faithfully yours.
