My dear Dr. Stearns:
Yours is here enclosing check for $25.00 for Mr. K. Y. Tu. I will keep the same on deposit for emergency use for Mr. Tu. You may be assured that with my knowledge of hie propensity for extravagance, none of this money will be spent except when he has proven his ease to me.
I have talked with him plainly and strongly about application to his work and improvement in his recitations and class work. He will have this constant pressure from me and I hope it will have some influence upon him.
Standing ready to fill any wishes you may pass on to me, I remain
Very truly yours,
