My dear Ida:
Thanks for your interesting letter.
I wish I had thought sooner of the possibility of sending at least one of these Chinese youngsters to you for the coming summer, but it seemed to me rather important that they should be thrown with larger groups of boys and girls of their own ages, and indeed that is one of the reasons why I abandoned the thought of losing after them myself. I have consequently been making plans to send them to summer camps, though there is at least a possibility that the arrangements may not go through with both of them, and there is also the problem of providing editable places for thee in those periods that intervene between the close of the school year and the opening of the camp and the close of the camp season and the opening of the new school year. Would there be a chance that you could take care of, one or both of them at those times?
Ever sincerely yours.
