My dear Dr.MacDaniels:
I have your letter of December 4 relating to Mr. Tu and his medical bills. The boy contracted several bills of this character while he was in Andover, but they never amounted to more than two or three dollars, and as he explained the circumstances to me in person, they seemed to me perfectly proper. In view, however, of the size of Dr. Kober’s bill, I am of the opinion that hereafter Mr. Tu should secure your approval before contracting any more bills of this kind.
I am returning Dr. Kober’s bill and will ask you kindly to have Mr. Tu O.K. it in person and return it to me. I have long made it a practice to require the personal O.K.’s of my various Chinese boys on all bills presented and before they are paid me.
Very sincerely yours.
