My dear Tu:
Thank you for your letter and the accompanying receipts.
Yes, your last report is much more satisfactory than some others I have had in the past. There is still room for improvement, however, and you must push ahead hard. If you are not able to take up the work at Andover next year and od it well, you will not have covered nearly so much ground in the time you have already been studying in this country as your other countrymen who have been here in the past have done. I do not want you to fall before below their high standard; nor do I wish you to start in on the Andover career without being able to make good.
I am enclosing check for $15.00 to cover the tennis racket, as requested. Take good care of it. A racket costs a good deal in these days, but its life can be much prolonged by proper handling.
Faithfully yours.
