Description
Typed letter sent from Dr. Alfred E. Stearns to K.Y. Tu. Will send additional money when able. Sent a letter with monthly allowance earlier. States he didn't have the house address and planned to send later. Thinks the letter was accidently sent. Says Tu might be able to get it by visiting the post office directly. Says Huntington School will help with Tu's education.

My dear Tu
Your letter of October 2 has just reached me. If I understand the contents correctly, you need another hundred dollars at this time in addition to the regular monthly allowance. On that understanding, I will try to get a check off to you tonight. I cannot at this moment, as my check-book is at the house, and I am leaving town abruptly for an engagement up in New Hampshire, which will keep me away until the latter part of the afternoon.
Early this week, either Monday or Tuesday, I made out and mailed to you your check for one hundred dollars, covering the monthly allowance. I addressed the envelope at the house, where I did not happen to have your street address, and intended to fill in the street address when I reached the office. My fear is that the letter was carelessly slipped into the mail with others and without any street address on the envelope. If that is true, it ought to come back in time but in the mean time I think you might possibly be able to get it by applying in person to the Boston post office and inquiring for it. Tell them that the envelope is a Phillips Academy return envelope and addressed to you. This ought to profit sufficient identification. If you are not able to get it, please let me know at once.
The Huntington School is a good one, and ought to do a good deal for you. I hope very much that this will prove to be the case, and that you will have a most successful year there.
Very sincerely yours
