Dear Mary:
Just a line to tell you how delighted I am to get an encouraging report of your work and progress from your Dean. Miss Goodrich has written me a very cheering letter indicating that while you are still behind in some of your subjects, she feels that you are making distinct progress and will be able to clear up the deficiencies in time and push steadily ahead. That’s fine. Keep it up, and the best of luck to you! I am passing on the good word to your father who I am sure will be immensely pleased.
And by the way, what about your financial situation? If you reach the point where you need help from me, don’t hesitate to let me know.
Very sincerely yours.
