Mr. Charles Sun
P. O. Box 93
Amherst, Mass.

Dear Charlie:

By a curious coincidence, at the very time that I was reading your letter this morning, there was placed on my desk a cable message just received from your father which reads as follows: “Please tell Charlie wait America till arrival my letter bringing him good news”. Of course, I don’t know just what this means, but I am passing it on to you as requested, and I can only hope that the “good news” when it does come will be all to your liking.
I am hoping to see you at Amherst over the weekend, though I am not yet quite sure when I can be there, as our own Commencement comes Friday and the final faculty meeting is the next day.

Please send your trunk in care of my office here and we will put it in one of the store-rooms down- stairs awaiting your arrival. It will be much safer there than in my collar.

Faithfully yours,
