Dear Tom:
Many thanks for your last letter and the latest information it brings me of your college career. I shall be delighted if you can make the varsity football team, provided, of course, this is not allowed to interfere with your more serious work in the college. We have had Chinese here at Phillips Academy who have made the baseball team, as you know, and quite a number have proved excellent soccer players. I think, though, that you will have the proud distinction of being the first one to make a varsity football team, if you are successful in attaining that goal. Good luck to you!
By all means, we must arrange to have a good talk together some time about your future work. When the rush is over, just keep me posted about your future work. When the rush is over, just keep me posted and I am sure that we can work out a satisfactory date.
With all good wishes, believe me
Very sincerely yours,
