Dear Tom:
Thanks for your note and the report on your last marks. I wish all of them were as good as the mark in Public Speaking and Debating. You always were good at the arguing business, especially when you found yourself in need of a little cash. If you will put a little of that "pep" into your other studies, I am sure that you can raise the grades there also; though I am not finding fault by any means, for they might have been a good deal worse, and on the whole I have been immensely satisfied with your record at Middlebury College to date.
With every best wish for continued progress and success believe me
Faithfully yours,
