Dear Sirs:
I am in receipt of your letter of January 23, enclosing a dollar draft on New York for three thousand dollars, representing proceeds from coupons of Chinese 5% Reorganization Gold Loan 1913, forwarded to you by your Tientsin office for collection, and with instructions to credit me with the aforementioned amount.
May I trouble you to let me know who the sender of this sum is, since I am at present handling the accounts of three Chinese whose children are my wards during their stay in America. In all probability this represents a remittance from Mr. C. Y. Sun, but I am not quite clear on this point, and should be glad, therefore, to be definitely advised by you.
Very sincerely yours,
