Dear Mary:
Thanks for your good letter, which evidently came while I was away from Andover earlier in the week.
If I remember correctly, though I haven’t yet had a chance to look up your father’s letter, your father approves heartily of your remaining in this country so as to be present at the regular University graduation exercises in June, and to receive personally your diploma at that time. All of our recent correspondences has been based on the assumption that you would not start for home until after that event. Consequently, if you are able to find a good job, especially one that will give you further experience along the lines of your training, to fill in the intervening time, I should accept it by all means.
When it comes to the three weeks’ vacation, I don’t quite know what to advise. A trip to Oklahoma is a pretty long and expensive one, but you are entitled to a good vacation, and if that trip seems to offer the best thing in its line, I am inclined to believe that your father would approve of the expenditure involved.
Just as soon as you can send me a statement of your accounts, I shall be glad to see that you have additional funds if they are needed. In the meantime, success to you on these examination tests.
Always sincerely yours,
