Dear Mary:
Your note of June 14 reached me yesterday.
Tom has been to see me and has decided to remain in Middlebury this summer and take special work in French in the Middlebury Summer School, which specializes in that language. Next fall he expects to take up advanced work at Yale. At least, that is the plan as I understand it at present.
I hope you don't find the strain of the work in the isolation ward too hard and that you will have no serious difficulty in learning to sleep in the day time and work at night. It is quite a change, though, and not every one can make the new adjustment easily.
Success and good luck to you.
Sincerely yours,
