Dear Mr. Stearns,
Today, I received a notice from my bank saying that I had drawn below one hundred dollars and my checking account is temporarily closed unless I want to pay interest on it each day. I can not reopen it again unless I deposit five hundred dollars to start it over. May I have five hundred dollars - if you approve of it. I have fifty dollars in the bank yet and I am enclosing an account of my expenditure.
I only have seen Tom three times because we both have been busy. He is only free on week ends and I work then as well as week days.
We shall be very glad to see you when ever you come to New Haven. Please do let us know.
Sincerely yours
Mary
