My dear Mr. Moody:
I am interested in your letter of September 9, which has just reached me. Be a little wary of the blandishments of my protege, Tom Sun, for all that glistens in his case is not always gold. He is a mighty attractive little kid, though, for all that, but a real Oriental in many ways and about as clever as they make them. Professions and promises are always profuse, but so far the accomplishments have fallen far behind. Anyway, I do hope earnestly that you can admit the boy, and I am inclined to think that he will prove a good citizen. He needs to be held sharply to his tasks, however, and if this can be done, he is perfectly capable of performing well.
With warmest greetings to all the members of the Moody family and trusting that this may prove the best year ever, believe me
Faithfully yours,
