My dear Tom:
Your letter of September 17 reached me this morning. Evidently your last one to me was written before mine to you had been received. If so, I apologize for the seeming severity of my remarks about the bills. Anyway, l and since I sent the check direct to you, I am returning the tutors' bills and will ask you to settle them direct, sending back to me, however, the individual receipts.
Trusting that you will meet with complete success in gaining admission to college and with best wishes for a good year, believe me
Faithfully yours,
