Dear Charlie:
Thank you for your good letter of September 30. I am glad to learn that the data I sent you for Norwich University finally reached you in safety.
I expect to be up in Amherst before the month is over to attend my first meeting of the Trustees, and I shall certainly hope to see you at that time. Please tell me whether the report that has reached me recently, to the effect that you have been taken into [illegible], is correct. If some good fraternity up there has taken you or doesn’t take you soon, I shall have a pretty poor opinion of undergraduate judgment.
With best of wishes to you, believe me
Very sincerely yours,
AES/G
