My dear Mr. Stearns:
I thank you for your letter of October 7 regarding Mr. Arthur Sun, who called upon me a few days ago and has filed a formal application for a position on this work.
It is not possible to say at this time whether or not a position here would be open to him, but I shall be pleased to bear his application in mind and if conditions develop so that I can offer him a position, I shall be pleased to do so.
