My dear Miss Harris:
I have just received a copy of your circular letter to parents and guardians in which you refer to the arrangements at the college for outside social life, etc.
So far as I can see, there is no reason why my ward, Mary Sun, should not be able to secure at the college itself all the social life and contacts that are necessary for her welfare; so I don't deem it desirable to authorize any special outside permissions at this time. Should any particularly attractive opportunity develop which you, yourself, felt should be accepted by Miss Sun, I shall be perfectly willing to leave the final decision to your own best judgment.
Very sincerely yours,
