My dear Mr. Ford:
Thank you for your note of October 18 explaining the items in the bill against Arthur K. Sun, my Chinese ward.
As the boy did not report the receipt of the $5.00 cash from you returned from my earlier check for $15.00, I had no way of knowing that the bill had not been paid. Evidently he pocketed the money and said nothing. As he is supposed to keep me fully informed of his receipts and expenditure. I trust that in case any omissions are due in the future, they will be made direct to me, or at least proper notice given me.
