My dear Mary:
Thank you for your letter just received and advising me of your vacation plans. If you have occasion to move about after reaching Springfield, please let me know so that I can keep in touch with you. I don’t want to run the risk of another upset and misunderstanding such as we had last fall when Mr. Robinson appeared.
It was great fun to be out there at Elmira and meet you and your friends, and I appreciated very much the friendly welcome that was given me. I only wish you were not so far away.
The Christmas bundles of candy from your home arrived only tills afternoon. Shall I send yours to Springfield?
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!
Ever sincerely yours,
AES/G
