My dear Tom:

Your good letter of March 12 with the accompanying statement of your expenditures to date has just reached me. I certainly congratulate you on the business-like way in which you are handling your accounts and the constrained way in which you have spent your cash. Under the circumstances I am very glad to send you another check to be added to your bank balance and which I hope will carry you through the current college year. If you can beat out Charlie on your annual expenditure, I shall certainly be proud of you.

Have you made any plans yet for the coming summer? I note that you speak of working, but where and how.

The best of luck to you!

Faithfully yours,
