My dear Mary:

Thank you for your good letter of March 15 and for reminding me that we had already, tentatively at least, agreed on the Cornell Summer School plan. I hope that the final arrangements will work out to your complete satisfaction and that you will be able to secure acceptable quarters for the session. Don’t take on too heavy a schedule of work.

By all means stay over night with your friend Miss Bear of York on your way to Washington. This will save you a night in a hotel, and that is most desirable.

I am delighted to know that you have Chinese friends of your family residing in your vicinity. Their presence must mean a lot to you.

With all good wishes, believe me

Very sincerely yours,
