My dear Dr. Sze:
Thank you for your letter of April 5 which came this morning.
Mary's telegram was forwarded to me in New York and was not received until Saturday morning. I wired her in your care authorizing the New York visit on the way to Elmira, provided you should approve of the plan. Evidently my message did not arrive in time, but since you appear to have been satisfied with the arrangement, I am glad that the plan went through.
I am especially glad that Mary could have been with you during the vacation and that you have also had a chance to get a bit better acquainted with Quincey Sheh. Quincey, in my judgment, is an exceptionally promising boy and has proved one of the most satisfactory and dependable of my numerous Chinese ward.
With kindest personal regards, believe me
Very sincerely yours,
