Dear Helen:
Thanks for your interesting letter of April 21. I am glad you are back safely and fully prepared, apparently, to enjoy to the full the spring term, which is regularly the most attractive in every New England school.
I had forgotten that your birthday came at this time of year, and am sorry that I consequently neglected to send you some little remembrance and word of greeting. Better luck next time! In the meantime, though, if it is not too late, may I offer the wish that the new year for you may be the best ever.
With all best wishes, believe me
Ever sincerely yours,
