My dear Dr. Stearns:
I want to tell you before you do anything to me. You might get a letter from Mr. George Sanborn about my going to New York. It was misunderstood, that was all. I told him Helen goes to school at New York, and I might go to see her a week before camp closes. He thought I was going to New York to see her. It was my fault, because I did not tell where Helen was. I just want to explain that I was not going to New York, then you don't have to worry about it.
Very sincerely yours,
