My dear Tom:
Thanks for your note and for the transcript of your latest report. On the whole, the report looks good to me, though I wish the French were higher. Keep up the good work.
Keep me posted as to the developments in your summer plans, so that I may know where you are heading and what to figure on. I learned some time after the vacation that you did not spend the past spring vacation in the way you had indicated to me you intended to do. Hereafter if you have to change your plans for any reason, I must insist that you keep me posted, for in case an emergency arises I should not otherwise know where to locate you. Where actually did you go and what did you do during the Easter vacation?
Ever sincerely yours,
