Dear Helen:
I have your letter of December 9, and the same mail brings me an interesting letter from your father dated November 14. This is the first time that I have heard from your father for many weeks; so that his letter is all the more welcome.
I hope to get over there before your term closes so as to discuss vacation plans with you. In the meantime, I think it would be best probably for you and Alfred both to come to Andover and stay until we can decide definitely on plans for the rest of the holiday season. Has Mrs. Nye urged you to visit her for any part of the vacation?
Of course I want you to have that trip to New York which you have always been so eager about, if it can possibly be arranged.
Very sincerely yours,
