Dear Helen:
Thank you for your good letter of November 20.
If the Patterson to whom you refer are good friends of your father and of the type that he would like to have you know, I shall be only too glad to have you spend a weekend with them in New York at such a time as Sister Mary Antony may approve. An outside contact now and then of this general character ought to do you good, but I should wish to be sure the people you were visiting were of the type your father fully approved. The fact that he gave Mr. and Mrs. Patterson a letter of introduction to you would seem to indicate that they are of the kind desired.
I am sorry I did not know about your coat a week or two earlier, for I took my own out of storage in Boston only two weeks ago and might easily have secured yours at the same time. As it is, I will drop in at the Boston furriers just as soon as I possibly can, probably within the next two or three days, and ask them to send the coast to you at once by express.
With all good wishes, believe me.
