Long Lake lodge
North Bridgton, Me.
My dear Mr. Spooner:
I am very grateful to you for advising me of your decision to accept young Tsai. As Tsai has just arrived from China and has never been connected with Phillips Academy it seems to me that your decision is justified and that the Andover delegation need not be regarded as weakened through the advent of this new recruit. If Tsai is anything like his brothers, and his father too for that matter, you will find him a most genial member of the camp. As he has been placed entirely in my hands I am particularly anxious that he should be under the best influences and supervision. That is why I have so strongly urged his admission to Long Lake Lodge.
I am sending the formal application as requested and the accompanying check for $25.00 to cover the deposit. You may hold me personally responsible for the boy’s bills, since his father has asked me to act as his guardian for the present at least.
Wishing you the most successful season ever, believe me
Faithfully yours,
Mr. Edwin V. Spooner
