Boston, Mass.
My dear Tsai:
I am very sorry that I missed your call and sorrier still that you did not tell me you were going to New York. I can’t expect to do business properly with you if I am not advised in advance of your intended whereabouts.
I enclose check for $50.00 to cover your traveling expenses to camp and such necessary purchases as you must make in advance. Please sign and return the enclosed receipt. I would not attempt to buy very much until after you reach camp and learn exactly what is needed.
The camp is known as Long Lake Lodge and is located at North Bridgton, Maine. Take an express train from the North Station to Portland, Me. Change there for the white Mountain Division of the Maine Central R. R. Your train leaves the same depot. Change again at Bridgton Junction to the Narrow Gauge R. R., which runs close by the camp. The conductor or almost any one can tell you where to get off. When you arrive, ask for Mr. Hinman, Mr.Eaton, or Mr. Spooner any one of whom will be ready to tell you where to go and what to do. It is imperative that you should start at once. Indeed you ought to have gone a week ago.
Please drop me a line after you reach camp, telling me of your safe arrival. I hope that all goes well and that you will have a most profitable as well as pleasant summer.
Very sincerely yours,
