Dear Sirs:
Referring to your letter of January 30th I beg to say that the payment of $15. for the tennis racquet in question was made last summer. Your receipt for the earn bears date of August 3rd, 1921. It is initialled ”T. (or J.) McD.” The bill itself bears date of July, 1921, and is made out to Dr. A. L. Sargent, guardian of K. F. Tsai, Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. Very probably the error in my name is accountable for your inability to locate the record of the payment.
