Dear Sir:
We confirm our telephone conversation of today relative to a remittance of $2,000. which we made to you on August 26th last in accordance with cable instructions from our Tientsin Office. We are now pleased to report that upon investigation we find that the mail confirmation of our Tientsin cable message reached us today and we quote our instructions in full:
"Pay Alfred Stearn, Andover, Mass. $2,000. from Tsai Shan Ku."
We trust that this will enable you to fully identify the transaction.
Relative to your inquiry regarding a remittance which you expect to receive for K.Y. Tu, we would inform you that we have examined our records and are unable to find that we have received instructions to pay him any funds. When communicating with him again please ascertain, if possible, from which branch he is expecting the remittance. We shall also appreciate your advising us in the event that you locate the funds he is anticipating.
