My dear Pyke:
On my return to Andover from summer vacation I find your two letters of July 27th and August 12th respectively. Having dealt with Chinese students for the past fifteen or twenty years, I think I know pretty clearly what the parents of these boys desires, and I can assure you that thei cases will be given my most careful and earnest consideration. The wishes will be carried out to the fullest possible extent. I hope to be able to take care of two or three of the youngsters in my own family circle, but you may rest assured that the other members of the group will not be left to shift for themselves. They will receive as much as attention and thought would my own children. I am deep by sensible of the responsibility that rests upon me in view of the confidence and trust which the parents of these children have so generously placed in me; and I shall not betray that trust if it is humanly possible to guard against such a catastrophe.
Very sincerely yours,
Rev. F.M.Pyke
