My dear sir,
As Dr. Stearns is away on his vacation I am replying to your letter of the 27th. we have already been obliged to turn away a large number of applicants, and it will be impossible for us to receive any more. You are fortunate to be located in so good a school as Dummer, and I trust that you will have another successful year there.
