In the absence of Dr. Stearns permit me to acknowledge the receipt of your favor of the 24th relating to Mr. T. Kai Liang. We are very glad indeed to have your helpful statement regarding the character of the young man, and his deficiencies in English. We shall be glad to receive him, and trust that he will make satisfactory progress. I am indebted to you also for the record of his work and grades, which you enclosed.
