My dear Tommy:
I am inclosing herewith the letter which I mailed you sometime ago when you were at Amherst, and which was later returned to me. The contents will be of no special value to you now, especially as I have destroyed the checks, having given you and Chow duplicates of them. I am sending the letter merely that you may understand that I endeavored to carry out my part of the bargain, and that it was through no fault of mine that the letter and check failed to roach you promptly.
With best wishes, believe me,
Sincerely yours,
