Dear Tommy:

Good for you! Your letter cheers me immensely. I will never let myself believe that you would intentionally go back on me or lot your work get into such shape as to involve you in serious difficulties. The note from the Registrar’s office, however, did worry me greatly, and I think with reason. I am feeling better, however, since I got your letter, for I can see that you are fully awake to the seriousness of the situation, and I am confident that you are perfectly capable of handling it satisfactorily and getting yourself out of trouble. If you feel that you need a tutor in Chemistry for a short time I would engage one for at least a week or two.

With all good wishes to you, believe me,

Faithfully yours,
