My dear Sirs:

My ward, Mr. T.Y.C. Lee, a Chinese student now at Yale, has recently received from the Legal Process Co. a notice demanding the payment at once of a claim of yours against him amounting to $10. Mr. Lee has sent the account to me for settlement. As I am accustomed to pay Mr. Lee's bills myself, and as I have never received any notice of this particular obligation, I am very much disturbed at this method by which collection is sought. Will you please advise me at once in regard to the matter and send me a statement of the account? Very possibly Mr. Lee has been careless in the matter, but under the circumstances I feel strongly disposed to suggest that in future he be required to exercise more care in the selection of the firms with which he trades.

Very sincerely yours,
