Dear Sirs:
I have just received from Mr. T.Y.C. Lee of Yale University your statement bearing date of May 24th, in which you demand an immediate settlement of an account of Messrs. Burke & Company against Mr. Lee for $10.
Mr. Lee’s funds have been in my hands ever since the boy has been in this country, and I cannot understand why this particular account has never been called to my attention. His bills for a number of years have been settled promptly and fully the moment the proper statements have been presented to me. I am writing to Messrs. Burke & Company for an explanation, and so soon as I hear from them will be glad to adjust the matter in the proper way.
Very truly yours,
