My dear Tommy:
Your letter of October 29th reached me Saturday afternoon, and this is the first chance I have had to answer it and to comply with your request for a check. I am enclosing herewith check for $30. Please sign and return the enclosed receipt, Be easy on the funds for they are getting low.
Congratulations, and hearty ones, on the good marks which you have reported. This is the best news I have had for a long time. Keep it up. We’ll have you in Phi Bota Kappa yet.
