Dear Tommy:

I don't wonder that that bond puzzled you. It wlll be necessary for you to sign it in the end, but I shall be glad to fill it out for you if you will just post me on one important fact. On the Yale records does your name appear as Thomas Lee, or in its full Chinese form? It will be necessary to fill out the bond to correspond with the Yale office record, hence my question. Just as soon as I receive that information I will fill out the bond and send it back to you for your signature.

Bonds of this character are used by most of the colleges, and by some of the schools merely to guarantee the payment of the proper accounts of the institution concerned.
