My dear Tommy:

Thank you for your reply to my letter of inquiry of recent date.

I am enclosing the form of your bond which I have filled out in part. It will be necessary for you to insert one or two figures and signatures. Put in the day of the month where I have indicated in the first paragraph. Sign your own name opposite the spot marked [illegible], then get some friend who knows you
you to sign his name where I have written "Name of Witness". This will not bind him to meet any obligations, but merely guarantees the genuineness of your own signature. When you have done all this send the bond in to the Bursar.

I am glad to note that you are likely to be in this vicinity in the near future. Be sure to look me up.

Faithfully yours,
